I enjoyed a wonderful experience last night that I wanted to share with you. Our grandson Seth has started playing the guitar this year, and he and his fellow students had a recital of sorts last night—it was a Family Christmas Sing. All the students and their families gathered together at their teacher’s home and we sang Christmas carols together!
It was a delightful idea! Didn’t take long. . . I think it was over in less than an hour. The students (of all levels) played the music while we all sang. I was reminded again how much music makes the Christmas season come alive for me. Of course, I’ve been listening to Christmas music for weeks (I actually listen to it all year long occasionally, but during the actual holiday, it’s much more consistent), but actually singing carols was such a fun experience.
I was glad I decided to go! I had thought about not going. . . we all have plenty to do this time of year, right? And I knew his immediate family would be there. I wasn’t sure that Grandma being there would be that important. Turns out it was important (he did ask Sara specifically if I was coming), and it meant as much to me as it did to him, I think!
