It’s getting closer, and I’m working on my to-do list, but I’m not stressing about it. I have to admit that my top priority right now is my sweetheart. With him in school the past few months, we haven’t had a lot of together time, so I’m just loving the idea of spending the next few days with him without having to worry about homework or papers or tests!
I’ve decided that if there are things that don’t get done, so be it! I can hand out neighborhood gifts and send out cards after Christmas if I need to; I don’t think anyone will be too bothered about the timing. . it’s the thought that counts, right?
In fact, tonight Sterling and I are using a gift certificate for a night at a nearby cozy little bed and breakfast that the Douglass family gave us for Christmas last year. And after that, I don’t really know what we’ll be doing. It’s not “our” year this year, which means that we aren’t hosting any official family gatherings. I’m sure we’ll see each of the families at some point, check out what Santa brought and share hugs. . . but mostly I’m just looking forward to a very relaxed, nothing-I-have-to-do holiday!
Doesn’t get much better than that!
I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year!
