I’ve spent the last few days at a DSA (Direct Selling Association) seminar, and it’s been a great experience. I’m proud to be part of this organization, an association of direct sales companies that are committed "to protect, serve and promote the effectiveness of member companies and the independent business people they represent.” I think being a member of this organization adds value and credibility to any organization.
In years past, I used to attend DSA meetings more often, but my schedule hasn’t allowed me to for quite a while, so I was glad to be able to come to this one. One of the DSA member companies hosted the seminar, which included a tour of the company, presentations by company representatives, and numerous opportunities to have open discussions and network with the dozens of executives and officials from the different companies that attended.
I learned several things, gathered some great ideas, and enjoyed invaluable opportunities to chat with many people. . . that alone made it worth my while. But even more importantly, I have been overwhelmed with gratitude for all that is Stampin’ Up! and am returning home with a validation that we’re on the right track, doing the right things.
As I’ve talked with others and we’ve shared the opportunities, challenges, and experiences that we’re all facing, I have been reminded how very blessed I have been over the past 20-plus years. I can’t even describe the love and appreciation I have for my supportive family, for our incredible Stampin’ Up! employees, and for our amazing Stampin’ Up! demonstrators!
I met people who were at companies that are just starting out, and I enjoyed reflecting on our early years. . . the hard work and sacrifices, the wonderful blessings, the great lessons. I met people who are at companies that are facing challenges similar to ones that we have been through, and it was good to be reminded of where we’ve come from and how bright our future is. I met people who are experiencing the kind of success we are working toward, and that inspired hope and excitement for our future. It was just a great experience, and I’ve decided I definitely need to come to these DSA events more often!
And tonight I’m in Milwaukee, VERY excited for our regional here tomorrow. It’s one of our largest regionals—and the last one of spring season—so it will be a special one! The last few days have made me appreciate our demonstrators so much, and I can’t wait to spend the day with them tomorrow!
