Ten Days

One of my first thoughts as I woke up Saturday morning was that I needed to get organized and calendar my blog posts because I haven’t been as diligent lately. The days fly by, and I forget to make the time to share—sometimes really important things.

Then, last night during the women’s session of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints’ General Conference, President Nelson invited the women of the Church “to participate in a 10-day fast from social media and from any other media that brings negative and impure thoughts to your mind.” Even though I spend little time on social media (or media of any kind), I want to follow the prophet.

So, you won’t see a post from me for ten days, and I’ll be back on October 17th—ready to share meaningful posts more often!

Conference weekends, held every April and October, are two of my favorite weekends of the entire year (nearly ten hours of inspiration and counsel—all while lounging in my sweats!), and this conference was no exception. There were too many wonderful talks to highlight, and I loved every minute!

I want to share just a few inspiring quotes from conference:

“Have you ever felt your talents and gifts were too small for the task ahead? I have. But you and I can give what we have to Christ, and He will multiply our efforts. What you have to offer is more than enough—even with your human frailties and weaknesses—if you rely on the grace of God.” Michelle D. Craig

“It is the love of God that rescues, restores, and revives. God knows you. You are His child. He loves you. Even when you think that you are not lovable, He reaches out to you. This very day—every day—He reaches out to you, desiring to heal you, lift you up, and to replace the emptiness in your heart with an abiding joy.” Dieter F. Uchtdorf

“Our Heavenly Father’s goal in parenting is not to have His children do what’s right; it is to have His children choose to do what is right, and ultimately become like Him.” Dale G. Renlund
