Summer Party Challenge

I can’t believe it’s time for another challenge already! Time flies!

If you read my last post, I shared a few projects I’d created for a summer BBQ with my family. It’s that time of year (for those of us in the US), and I’m sure many of you are already planning summer parties. This month’s challenge is to create a project (or a group of projects) for a picnic or BBQ. You can use the Country Living kit that I used for my family get-together, or anything else. (Remember that I am partial to Stampin’ Up! products though!)

For those of you who live in parts of the world that are getting colder rather than warmer, I’d still love for you to submit your ideas. I know you won’t be able to actually use your creations for a few months, but if you keep them handy, maybe they’ll help you look forward to warmer days.

As usual, the last day of the contest will be the last day of the month; this month that’s June 30. I’m excited to see what you come up with!

Hi Shelli! I didn't see any comments yet, so I couldn't resist finding something fun to post!

This is a project that my friend Kim shared with me last fall. It's perfect for summer picnics! Hopefully it will help get some creative juices flowing here for your Challenge :-)

Since we can't even order the Summer Cookout Kit until June 15, I thought I'd post something for another summer celebration. Summers in our family are filled with birthdays! The first to kick us off is my daughter Claire. Here's is her birthday party invitation: http://juliedavison.blogspot.com/2009/06/cupcake-party-invite.html

Here is a invitation for a summer wedding shower BBQ that my mom asked me to make for a shower we are giving.

Although I don't think the scan does it justice (I'll work on that for the furture :) I think it turned our really nice looking.

I hope you enjoy it, Shelli!

Hi Shelli,

Here is my submission for this creative challenge.

For this year's summer bbq or birthday party how about creating this cute Edible Dump Truck. This edible dump truck is sure to be a smashing hit with both big and small and is sure to hit the special spot in the tummy.

Hope you enjoy it!

I made these flowers for a class recently but at the time I though they would be GREAT for centerpieces at a Summer Picnic -

Here's the post about the flowers & Class:http://www.inkrediblestamping.com/inkredible_stamping_with_/2009/05/pjs-and-flowers-punch-art-pj-party-part-2.html

Hi Shelli!!

I made this "firecracker" to decorate our food table at this year's 4th of July BBQ. This will be our first year celebrating this holiday in our home. We are usually traveling back to NY to visit with the in-laws.

Here's the link:

It's the first project on this post!!!

These are the items I made for a workshop I had on the 7th,perfect for 4th of July picnics. The silverware holder was the idea of another SU demo and was featured in the March Stampin Sucess, I loved it the minute I saw it. The firecrackers I had seen on another blog and they fit right in for my theme. The brownies are featured on the Wilton brownie pan, I just added my own tag. I also made a banner, but have yet to get a good picture of it. The firecrackers were given away as a door prize, and everyone got to take home a brownie treat! The girls loved it! http://nelliesnest.blogspot.com/2009/06/sunday-stampin-up-workshop.html

Hi Shelli, Here's my submission for the Summer Party Challenge. I and the other Ladies Fellowship Officers from church made star boxes for our table centerpieces for the annual family church picnic. I thought the silver onion grass really set them off and made them pop. What do you think? http://stampalittlelonger.blogspot.com/2009/06/born-in-usa.html

Thank you for the inspiration to include the children in our stamping fun! This is a fun class for children to help with July 4th celebrations! Uses left over Yogurt containers and minimal cardstock.

This was different from my usual stamping projects, but this is the beauty of challenges: stepping out of the box.é

Here is the barbecue invite set I created (scroll down to second project):
