Leadership 2010--Do What You Love

Leadership 2010 has come and gone—and although I’m exhausted, I didn’t want it end! I truly loved every minute! (I have to mention the set, which I think is my favorite ever. I hadn't seen it before I walked into the convention center, and when I saw it earlier this week, I fell in love! It was beautiful!)

I know I say this all the time, but I really think this was our best leadership ever! It felt focused, there was a nice balance of stamping and training, and the presentations were fabulous! I don’t know if it’s just what I needed, or if everyone agrees, but I thought it was outstanding.

I went to portions of at least every class, and all the presenters (both staff and demonstrator) were great; I was proud of every single one of them! I was especially impressed with Sue Rusch, our keynote speaker, who also taught two classes.

Her keynote was focused on recruiting, and her two classes were aimed right at leaders, and her material was perfect. If our leaders take to heart what she taught, I truly believe their groups will grow.

Managers’ Reception had a little unplanned trauma. The Old Mexico themed-event included a rodeo, and one of the riders broke his leg during the show. Of course, they ended up cancelling the rest of the rodeo, and we went into dinner. The rest of the evening—including entertainment—was a success, and in true form, demonstrators immediately started collecting money for the rider and asking for an address where they could send hand-stamped cards. I LOVE our demonstrators!

We had several fun announcements, including a Workshop of a Lifetime Recruiting Challenge, which will send me out in the field to do 24 workshops with 24 of our top recruiters. I can’t wait! One demonstrator told me that she called her husband and told him I was coming to their house to do a workshop (how’s that for positive thinking!), and he panicked because the house wasn’t clean! She has a few weeks to prepare!

We also had several giveaways, including quilt blocks (which everyone loved) and a free sneak peek set from our next mini. The demonstrators went bananas over that, rocking back and forth and waving the sets in the air. I felt like I was at a rock concert—it was a great sight from the stage.

Personally I enjoy leadership because the group is smaller than convention, and I have a chance to visit with more demonstrators. Plus the curriculum feels more focused. Although there’s plenty of stamping, we really are committed to presenting material that we feel will help our leader demonstrators, and I felt like we hit the mark this year.

Congratulations to all those who helped make it happen, and THANK YOU to all our wonderful demonstrators who came and made it such a fabulous experience!

Wow Leadership sure looks like fun. I wish I could be there! Just the Momento Mall items alone...hope some of it will be offered to us who were able to attend (NOT FOR THE LACK OF TRYING EITHER!).

Unfortunately, I won't be able to attend convention this year and it saddens me. I lost both of my jobs and I cannot afford it financially. This will be the first one I miss. I pray I find a job in soon!

Thank you for all your sharing.

Leadership was amazing! It was my favorite of all I've attended these past 6 years. It was well done with very relevant and focused messages. Your genuine care and concern for us was evident and very much appreciated. It makes me so proud to be associated with a company that shares my values and ideals with a leader I admire and respect. Thank you for all you do to guide and steer the Stampin' Up ship. It's an incredible company. Being part of Stampin' Up has definitely been a life changing exprience for me.

Shelli,
I've been home from Leadership for a couple of hours, and I absolutely agree with you - it was the best ever. The classes were very relavent, with concrete take-aways and were well-taught. Sue Rusch was amazing, right on target and the SU staff keeps getting better and better. I can't wait to implement some of what I learned (right after my Tues/Wed classes are over!)

The gift of the quilt square was so appreciated, especially for those of us who don't sew, and the stamp set, well, it's just gorgeous and would make anyone want to dance.

Thanks for all you do for us and all you are to us. We heart you!

I am so excited about the quilt square! I am going to make some for my church's quilt ministry. We make quilts for those that are hurting, and we pray for the person as me make the quilt. We have been looking for some new patterns, and this is just the thing! Thanks to the demo who came up with the idea! It is awesome!

This was my first Leadership and I had a fabulous time. Thank you to you and all your staff for all the hard work.

Hopefully my lost luggage will show up tomorrow. It has all my stamp sets in it and my prize patrol prize too. I was so upset, I could just cry.

I agree! This was the best Leadership EVER!!! Instead of coming home ovewhelmed like I sometimes do, I feel like my business just became more doable. Thanks to all of you for a fantastic event! Please pass along our thanks to the people who made the quilt squares, though I'm quite certain they could feel our energy and excitement all the way to Kanab!

Thank you so much Shelli for the absolutely wonderful Leadership Symposium we just enjoyed...it truly was the best I've ever attended and it was #6 for me. GREAT event, wonderful info and whoo hooo...that quilt square and the sneak peek set!!! thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

I also stayed over for the regional and would have to dub it the best ever as well. I have always enjoyed the previous regionals I have attended but this one really took the the cake.

Am already looking forward to convention and it's months away but I will need that long to recover from such a fun and busy week. Jan

Shelli,
Leadership was the best thing that could have happened for me right now. After being away from home for 4 1/2 months caring for my beautiful mother who had brain cancer, I thought it would end my career. But, she prompted me to call and get my ticket for Leadership. She was one of my favorite stamping gals via the web cam. I miss her terribly.
I had hoped to see you for a new photo as I have lost 82 lbs to date. Maybe I can get a photo at convention this year that looks a little more like ME now. lol..(it will be my 5 yr anniversary).
Thank you again, so much, for making Leadership special! You do know how to put on a party!
Bless you Shelli.....

Shelli! What a fabulous party you threw for my birthday this year! Leadership is my present to myself because it always falls on my birthday! And how nice of SU to give out so many FUN THINGS to everyone who came to my birthday party! Loved EVERYTHING about Leadership! The venue, the projects, momento mall, the stamps, everything, ESPECIALLY YOU DOING A WORKSHOP for some lucky demonstrators! And I want you to know that I have two prospects for that are interested in signing up! You WILL be doing a workshop in Texas!

Leadership was the very best it has ever been! I went with a prayer in my heart that I would come home with ideas I could put to use right away.
I filed my note book with ideas to work on. I took photos of things that I could train my team on. I love what dale said about making the main thing, the main thing. I LOVE LOVE LOVE that you gave us each a quilt block. That is something I have taken home and put to use.
I have my first fabric demonstration tomorrow at our Las Vegas Crafter's guild meeting.
I don't own a sewing machine but I know plenty of people who do.

May God bless you and your family,
