So Glad I Went

When we headed to Panguitch Lake for our annual Larsen family reunion late last week, I questioned whether everyone was right and maybe I should have stayed home and worked, but after a few days in the cool mountain air and lots of visiting with family, I’m so glad I went!

Shalae and Jon slept in Sage and Jason’s trailer with them and Kona. They all like to sleep in a little and the Brown children don’t know how to sleep when the sun is up, so we thought it would be fun to keep the Brown children with us. Besides, that’s all the room we had in our trailer.

Each morning the children climbed into our bed to snuggle with us and stay warm while the rest of the camp slept. Here you can see Ashton, Cooper, and Phoebe playing games on our phones while Grandpa and I tried to enjoy a few more moments of morning quiet time.

The women and teenage girls usually craft on one of the days, but because the reunion was before convention, I didn’t have time to put together a fun craft. Vonna, however, brought supplies for the little girls to make sock dolls and a blanket. Actually, the moms did most of the sewing, but the girls loved helping and playing with the dolls.

The days were beautiful with a few rain showers in the afternoon. There were bike rides down the mountain, mini four-wheeling and Jeep adventures, and scenic walks around the camp grounds. Most of all there was a lot of visiting around campfires and watching the kids play with their cousins.

I love this reunion because it’s not too far away and it’s so relaxing! I even took a couple of afternoon naps. And although I didn’t work as much as I’d planned, I’m refreshed and ready for a busy week ahead.

I love going camping. My hubby teases me cause when I camp, I stamp. Yep that's right, I bring a lot of my stamping stuff, and while the guys do their camping stuff, I do my stamping stuff.
It's the only way to go.
See you in a week!
Hugs,
Di

I've been with Stampin' Up! for almost 14 years and I remember when your girls were the age of your grandchildren! WOW! It is so much fun to see the pictures of your family, immediate and extended!

I would love to know how you "do it all" without crashing. I have an 8 week full time job and I'm trying to cram my regular stuff in while missing 8 hrs of my day each day! Accckk. I have a very successful Open house last Sat. My best so far but my life is small potatoes next to yours. What's your secret????

As a mother of 3 young children (who look the ages of Jon and Shalae's children) I have to say that it was extremely nice of you and your husband to take the the kiddo's in your camper so they could get some extra sleep.

I had to laugh at your iphone picture. My mom told me the other day that she doesn't know how she managed to raise three children without one :)

This makes me love you even more!!! That you can be so beautiful and sophisticated looking, but also live in a camper for a weekend, and rough it a little! I also love that you put your family first, and teach us to do the same thing. Thank you for setting that example.
See you next week!

I love family reunions and the chance for my kids to play with their extend family. I am cutting my convention short by just a bit this year just to be home for our wonderful reunion that is on Sunday. Can't wait for next week but I am glad that you had the chance to go and relax before all the excitement begins.

Hello! you know my favorite thing about getting my new catalog is seeing the family photo. I really like seeing how the kiddos have grown and seeing if there are any new additions! Beautiful family.

Question, Can you ask Yvonne (I think I have that right)if you can post her familys photo. I would love to see all her kids and her, its been a long time since her familys photo was in the catalog. Can you tell us how they are doing. Does she have any high school graduates yet? Curious minds want to know!!

Your pictures are wonderful! I wish I were part of YOUR family! You have such a great group, and I love how you all enjoy being together. What a fantastic bunch of folks!!! I'm so glad you went, you would have regretted it if you hadn't. Memories are priceless! :D The work always gets done...and if it doesn't, no big deal!

Hi, Shelli! You have such a beautiful family. I only have one comment. I have a suggestion. I recently received the Definitely Decorative catalog and I think the "Flurries" snowflakes and the "Adornment" medallion decals should be made into stamps. They are so pretty. Have a great time at the convention.

Hi Shelli,
Today was the last day of the 2010 S U convention and my first time attending. I was just blown away with all the talent there is in this company and with all the amazing demonstrators you had there showing us the wonderful new products in the new catalogs.
I was just a little disappointed that we were nearing the end of the convention and my wrist band had not yet been shown on the big screen. Well, as I was telling myself that not everyone wins, my wrist band was up on the big screen and I jumped up in sheer shock. I was so happy to win the Jolly Bingo Bits and Cork sheets and was content with that. But then you did something that just really surprised me. You gave a gift to EVERYONE who was still at the convention and I'm sure glad that I decided to stay until the end.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for the Deck the Halls DSP, Peaceful Season clear mount,, Cherry Cobbler Classic ink pad and Stampin' glitter Champagne glass.
I also want to thank you for taking some time to talk to me and take a picture with me. You are truly a down to earth person and I'm so glad I met you in person and attended the convention. I am planning on returning next year but maybe be one of those that parade on the stage. Thank you again for all you do.

I love looking at your pictures and reading your blog. I was bummed to miss convention...I made it to 12 and have had to miss the past two due to my husbands health and finances. I PRAY I get to make it next year! Your enthusiasm is so contagious...along with the entire Stampin' Up staff. Anyways...I was commenting on this post because I couldn't help but imagine how fun it would be to tag along on any of your family vacations! Have a great rest of the summer. Hope to see you at Convention 2011!!!
